UPMC Partnerships

Strengthening Service Lines

Uniontown Hospital has strengthened its partnerships to provide the best care for patients. The hospital has furthered collaborative efforts with UPMC to ensure the highest quality of care in three specific service lines, allowing Fayette County residents the comfort and ease of world-class care close to home.

Through new and enhanced partnerships in the three key health service areas – cancer care, cardiology and women’s services – the doctors and health professionals you know and trust can now also engage the expertise and knowledge of our UMPC partners to ensure the best care for every patient at Uniontown Hospital.

These service lines were specifically targeted to meet the needs of the community and to enhance the exceptional care already provided by the hospital.

The partnerships include a strengthening of the existing partnership with UPMC CancerCenter, partner with University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, to provide the latest and greatest care for oncology patients. With new technology, including a new Linear Accelerator to render pinpoint diagnoses and treatment, and with the latest clinical trials – the best cancer care is available right here in Fayette County.

The engagement with UPMC also includes collaborative care between the hospital’s award-winning Cardiology Department and the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI). This cooperative allows the hospital’s nationally recognized cardiologists and staff to work with the world-class HVI doctors to ensure the best outcomes for every heart patient.

Finally, with as many as 75 percent of all babies born in Fayette County taking their first breaths at Uniontown Hospital and with the care of these infants and their mothers critical to providing the best care for the region, the hospital has engaged the experts at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC to enhance Women’s Health Services at the facility. This partnership with the obstetrical team in the Family Beginnings Birthing Unit – where 1,000 babies are born annually – will allow the award-winning team at Uniontown Hospital to work in tandem with the award-winning team at Magee to provide world class care for babies and their mothers each and every time.
